Change the power connector that is currently connected to the problematic hard drive. Thank you. my WD element 2tb hard drive fell down, it just fell from the table and there are no scratches or any particles in hard disk are moving .. Do a few reboots - see if the drive is consistently detected. I had a 1 TB external that's been giving me problems for months j was just about to write it off as ruined.
