I do believe the max speed for IDE is 133 as opposed to 300 for the SATA, but my guess is most of the slow speed problem comes from the conversion I wonder if anyone makes a bracket that has a built-in signal booster? Also, I needed to switch the drive in and out of it a couple of times in order to test some other HDs I had.
