Why my psd files that are digital paintings have a Date Taken, I'm not sure (they don't come from cameras or scanners). I'll see if using the command line directly with EXIFtool will work better. Since you are creating them it would be Date Created. When working with files it is often useful to be able to sort them by any of the date parameters, for example by their modified date.
To sort by Date Created would help, because I will not have to switch back and forth between Explorer and Serato... When I mount a backup all files show the proper (old) dates.
