I have the CD that supposedly gets you into creating a new front-end password, but it just won't get me to a dos command line.. If your computer came with restore discs instead of a restore partition, insert the first restore disc into your computer’s disc drive and restart your computer to get started. What do u actually mean when u say "System Restore hasn’t worked on my computer for a year"? Then just use the plain desktop background to begin with, give it a few start-ups to learn better habits, then reassess. Run chkdsk & check for that.

I did all sorts of things to get that monitor happening like hard shutdowns which just prevoked the little monster even more & brought up all those messages at next start-up!Eventually
