However, Windows Update issues have frequently plagued Windows 7 over the last year, and this has been particularly troublesome for fresh Windows installs. I rebuild this image from time to time, but I'm not going to invest more time trying to get the rollup to work. It does take some time for the rollup to install, but the others were relatively quick. I know I may be behind the times but 7 was perfect for me as it's just like Vista but better. I had tried several other online "solutions" without success before I stumbled upon this one. http://www.sevenforums.com/windows-updates-activation/396402-questions-regarding-new-convenience-rollup-win-7-sp1.html

Windows 7 Rollup Download

TrollBytes Wow! VG ^^ Many Windows 7 users are facing this problem. I'm asking because the existence of this component list would seem to indicate that this rollup package, a single file of 476MB, is capable of being dismembered into its 122 component I'll just copy and paste my reply to another guy in this thread: That's what I thought initially, but I installed a fresh Win7 SP1 VM and installed only this update,

  1. All to no avail.
  2. Microsoft has released "Convenience Rollup" package for Windows 7 and Server 2008 R2 operating systems which contains almost all updates and hotfixes which have been released after the release of SP1
  3. According to what I know, this update is not part of the Rollup, but your testing may prove something else.
  4. As Junes CU includes all the updates I installed in previous CUs if I uninstall June will all the patches in it be uninstalled or just those it installed?

I already have Windows 7 Service Pack 1 installed and I my computer has 64-bit windows, but Windows Update doesn't work. Backwards, I know, but work with it for a moment. Thanks, Frank bill Actually, on 2 systems I've installed Windwos 7 last week, until I install 3102810 WU don't work at all. Ignoring the time to process a case, even after an issue becomes a "known issue" listed on Microsoft's website, it can sometimes be days and even weeks until a solution is Microsoft Update Catalog After that, windows updates appear after the normal brief delay.

In such a case, the measures to disable CEIP and additional components like Scheduled Tasks would be done AFTER the rollup installation. This is a piece of crap. The outcome increases Windows operating system reliability, by eliminating update fragmentation and providing more proactive patches for known issues. We’re making these servicing changes because overtime we have seen that the piecemeal approach to patching has been one of the biggest challenges in achieving high quality servicing.

I noticed MS Essentials did the same thing, could not update definitions after install, and on its on updated later. or is it all or nothing? If it says Service Pack 1, like the image below, we’re good to go. You just have to know what you're doing. I hope life is treating you well. The combination of the the two updates recommended here, and the "Windows Update Diagnostic" finally allowed me to run the normal automatic Windows Update. tivorocks January 4, 2017 Reply Thank you…fixed!

Further if you deploy SP2, but want to rip out specific pieces, if memory serves me correctly it's an all or nothing proposition, unless you dig into the MSI/MSU packages. Download and Install SP1 Separately: If you installed from an older Windows 7 disc without SP1 integrated, you'll need to install Service Pack 1 afterwards.
