On the second problem you did a fresh install of Windows 7 On the "tried to boot from a windows 7 disk", when you say "a windows 7 disk" that concerns I haven't found a solution yet but I have isolated the root of the problem. Windows - Main Windows community for all versions of Windows. is there something else I should do to check for an issue? There's free programs out there like Comodo Time Machine or RollBack Rx which function like Windows System Restore but work much better.

I am sure if it was possible to install Windows 10 on a floppy disk, it wouldn't have any problem about the updates either. Now treating customers like cows to be milked and herded through pastures is considered normal. We check routinely once a week for updates. It's a bummer that I need to buy a more costly license, in order to have what used to be basic functionality.

it doesn't matter if you are on a laptop or desktop, it's easy to change the hdd so no excuse. my co-workers have run the latest windows updates and no issues. I look at people whining about lost productivity due to updates like, your fault for not taking care of update policy like a professional should.
